Laotian Wolf Snake For Sale

Lycodon laoensis

The Laotian Wolf Snake (Lycodon laoensis) is a small, banded, completely harmless terrestrial snake of northern Thailand's dry deciduous forests and limestone outcrops near the Laos border. A nocturnal gecko and skink hunter, it stays alert yet generally calm and tolerates a drier setup than most Thai colubrids. An approachable species for intermediate keepers.

In the Wild

Habitat
Terrestrial. Dry deciduous and mixed forest, limestone outcrops and rocky hillsides, 100 – 1,200 m. Northern and northeastern Thailand near the Laos border.
Wild Diet
Lizards, geckos & skinks. Terrestrial nocturnal hunter.

Captive Care

Captive Diet
Pre-killed small lizards or geckos. Every 5 – 7 days.
Temperature
24 – 28 °C ambient — 22 °C cool end
Humidity
50 – 65 %. Light misting 2× per week. Drier setup than most Thai colubrids.
UV Requirements
Low (nocturnal). UVI 0 – 1.0.
Enclosure
Terrestrial. Min 60 × 45 × 30 cm. Rocky hide decor; limestone substrate optional.
Temperament
Alert but generally calm. Suitable for intermediate keepers.
